So just to give a little insight, I’ve been playing World of Warcraft for years now (even since I stopped playing EQ). I’ve played both casually and gotten into it enough to be a raid leader for a guild. I believe that WoW has gotten a bit boring and easy in many ways. So…… I started playing WoW classic!
For those of you that have not played classic, this is where the challenge is! Gold is hard to come by and it gets spent on everything! You actually work to level and run to dungeons with groups instead of using the famous “lfg feature.” Oh and have a I mentioned running? You run everywhere……and then run some more. You don’t get the ability for a mount until level 30, so if you think things will be fast….. I hope you’re playing a mage that can port, or know one who will give you ports. The challenge is real and dying is normal. I am really enjoying it because its not ridiculously easy. Questing is seriously irritating, but it keeps you busy. Why irritating? Run to this person, run collect this thing and now run back to the original person……. rinse repeat. I am playing horde and I swear Thrall should be sick of seeing my character’s face by now, lol. I feel like a wayward kid….. “Hey Thrall, gimme something to do!” *Runs out to do the task and returns 10 minutes later* “Thrall, I’m done. Gimme something else!” Either that or we are all his dogs that he throws a ball for and we have to bring it back constantly. I keep thinking eventually he is going to be like, “STAY OUT!!” That or he is just laughing with everyone around him saying, “See I can make these idiots do anything.” Sometimes I leave the quests alone and just farm trade skill materials. Trade skills are tedious, but have actual rewards in classic. You can make items that help during leveling. In regular WoW the trade skills are all but obsolete. Classic is also good for meeting people to level with and talk crap with. Give it a try!
