Encouragement

Everyone knows that we are our own worst enemies. I am definitely a victim of myself, lol. I let too many things influence the way I feel, and as we all know – women are emotional. It is easy to allow the outside world to dictate our mood. Getting cut off in traffic tends to make us irritated or angry. Someone criticizing something we say or do can upset us. It isn’t always bad though. Getting a “good job” at work can lift our spirits. Having a friend say that we look nice makes us feel good. The negative influences often have the biggest effect. These are influences (good and bad), but they should not decide how we feel for us. We always get a choice – to cuss out the person that cut us off in traffic or just breathe and let it go. Now, let me be honest…..it is very difficult not to “pitch a fit” and have a little “road rage,” and I am guilty of this myself. I can acknowledge my lack of control in this area, but I can also determine that it is a choice. There will always be people and situations that will try to bring you down. I try to encourage myself as well as others to at least remember that how you feel is a choice. Sometimes thinking about that when things happen can make a difference.

Society can be very negative, so don’t help it out by mentally beating yourself up.
