Stress

Let’s talk about something we all know and….love, lol. Someone once asked me how to get rid of the stress in their life and the answer that I gave was definitely not one that they wanted to hear. I simply said, “You can’t.” I went on to try to explain the reason behind my response. So here it is: First you have to identify what causes stress. Well let’s see…. having a job causes stress, going to school causes stress, having kids causes stress, having a spouse causes stress……. doing chores, giving advice, driving…….stress…….almost everything in life causes stress. Next you have to determine how to get rid of it. Well that is a problem since I can’t think of a single thing that doesn’t cause some type of stress (mental or physical and sometimes both). You would have to stop doing everything in your life to get rid of stress and that in turn would cause stress. Finally, you realize that stress is a normal part of life. Sure no one likes it and there IS such a thing as too much stress. The idea is to minimize stress by determining what is worth the stress. In my opinion, of nothing else – kids are worth the stress. Sometimes mine drive me insane, but I wouldn’t give them up for anything. I realize that not everyone feels the same way about kids. Also in my opinion the other things are debatable as to being worth it or not, but we all do what we have to do. I deal with the stress of work to be able to take care of those that are most important to me. I deal with driving to get to said job, and so on and so forth. Figure out what is worth it and let go of what is not. Food for thought.
